This blog is a collaboration between Peter D & Kevin T, two ex-record shop workers who once worked together. I Taught Myself How to Grow Old is named after a Ryan Adams song that includes the lyrics
'Most of the times I got nothing to say
When I do it's nothing and nobody's there to listen anyway
I know I'm probably better off this way'
Which seem perfect for yet another blog about music, tapped in by two list-making, late thirties, TV watching baldies, who should be out running around instead of sat at home downloading missing Walker Brothers songs.

Phosphorescent

After a long lay off, largely due to work, kids, the World Cup and so on, here we are again, back up and running. I think Phosphorescent is a great place to start, as, that, or he, or them, has been on the pod for a week or two - the 2009 To Willie album of Willie Nelson covers. Phosphorescent seem to be more or less Mathew Houck, and the Willie album is the 4th album under the name. He's opened for Bon Iver along the way, and I think he is actually now performing with Willie Nelson, so full circle for him.
